When I first meet Florian we were living in the bottom of Andre and Jioti's house on the Ruby Estate in Aspen. It must have been 1984. Florian or Scott as we new him them lived i a room up stairs and was recovering from being rear-ended and still drove the toyota with the smashed in trunk. Ah those were the days...wild thoughts of changing the world for the better..late nights at the macrobiotic potluck drinking guiness and potting taking our country back from the greedheads who were driving it to ruin. Well Florian, you are gone almost a year now and the world has moved another step closer to the brink...Scott you would have beed appalled by the deepwater oil crisis in the gulf that will inevidably produce thousands of environmental refugees, a strange blessing you never lived to see it come to this...and yet every day I miss you, my commrad-in-arms to help continue the good fight...to give your wise sage advice and council on everything from my out of control scorpio to strategies moving the world quickly to a new clean energy economy through the waging of peace, kindness and healthy spirit food. Florian Scott Halazon, you were unique my brother in your deep insights and humor always acknowledging the subtlites of life that gave the true essence of what and who we are. I miss our roadside coffeeshop meetings to strategize the next action to make the world a better place. Well Florian, the next world is undoubtedly a beter place because YOU are in it!

I am so grateful that we got the chance to connect again after so many years and so many changes.

I met Florian in 1998 in Boulder at a conference - we instantly recognized each other as compatriots in complex missions of business, joy, humor, a love of ideas and saving the world (ultimate multi-taskers!). We shared e-mails and ideas -- he knew about my company and was interested in my work with natural burial and returning our bodies to the earth's cycles - and I remember him finding it a curious good work. I loved the tale he told about going ahead of the Kesey's bus and setting up the trip so that its spontaneity was smooth... what a lesson in "laying the road" THAT was...I'd been looking forward to meeting up with him again someday and now will have to settle for leaves on an aspen and molecules of breath on the wind.

I met Scott in New Orleans where he recognized my natural talents as a healer and encouraged me to get more formal training at the East West Foundation in Boston. I have thought of him often and with great love over the years. I will continue to send him my blessing as he travels through the Bardo state

I met Scott in the 70's, in the days of macrobiotics, Carbondale, Aspen and all the connections we made with people then. Scott used to visit me, my then husband, and kids often. My memories are foggy, but I do remember that we always had a good time. He often told me that my second son was going to be something special, well, he is going to graduate from the U of O next year - architectural program. I have often thought of what Scott said about my son. Oddly enough, Scott was on my mind, after all these years, and I tried to find him online, just 2 weeks before I heard of his passing. Scott drifted in and out of my life back in those days, and then we lost touch as life changed and people moved on, but he was never forgotten. Blessings to him and all who knew him. Victoria

I Loved Scotty He was a true friend. I had the pleasure of being with him in Boston in the year of 1975 to 1976. We started a bakery called Cablesprings. He was always willing and did help without self interest only wanted to make it work. God bless you Scotty

Many years ago, returning home on a flight to Denver, from Pittsburgh via Dulles, I met Florian. I had had a rough trip home, visiting family, and needed to vent...and vented to this stranger. By the end of the flight, I was laughing. I never saw him again, but Florian and I kept in touch via email. He teased me for being "such a Scorpio" on the flight.

Last week, at mom's house in Pittsburgh, after a flight from Denver via Dulles, I heard of Florian's passing. I immediately felt regret that I never stayed in better touch with him and never answered his last email. It wasn't sent to me individually, but to a bunch of his friends. I wish I had acknowledged it and thanked him for sharing.

Yesterday, on my birthday, I thought of Florian again and how I will miss his emails. I learned a lot from Florian: how we are intertwined, how we all affect each other and how a personal relationship, no matter how seemingly casual... is so very important.

I honor Florian and his passion and I am lucky to have met him. I'm certainly a richer person from knowing him. I know my relationship with him is not over. I'll continue to experience his energy and I look forward to continuing our relationship and championing his causes, however this manifests itself in the future.

You left the world a better place, Florian.

"The King of Boulder" is how I remember Scott in 1971. His presence spoke of leadership and authority, standing straight and tall, speaking precisely with focus and knowledge. He was of a different realm than most of us.
(hey, I think he still owes me for the phone bill...)

Hi there Scott's friends,

My name is Myck and I think I met Florian, through a mutual friend, Dave Ziemer, also passed away. Scott and I never had the pleasure of meeting face to face, but via 12-15 years of emails we became very good friends. We talked about everything, tried to put numerous projects together, but alas they were not meant to be. In all the years that I knew him (cyberwise) we never once disagreed and I find that to be amazing considering the many subjects and ideas we discussed. I think the words of Og Mandino, best describes what we both believed in as far as how he chose to live his life and I mine.
"I will commence my journey unencumbered with either the weight of unnecessary knowledge, or the handicap of meaningless experience" - Og Mandino
Carry on my friend, carry on.
Myck Cruz

I travelled across the country with Scott a few time in the early 70's. I'll never forget him walking down the hallway of my parents home on his hands. My folks couldn't figure this guy out, but they thought he was, in there words, "a nice character." It took me years to figure him out, but I did, and I hope he has finished his trip, and got to where he wanted to go in the end. My condolences to his friends and his family.
Bye Scott

Wandering in and out of my life for the last 40 years, through good and bad, he has brought entertainment, thought, relief, and insight. He has been both a good student and teacher. I will never forget on of the most complex personages that I ever had the privelege of meeting. HE was always there to help and add levity to the most serious of problems, trying to network and help all he met along the way :-)

Florian and I were started off purely as business friends; introduced back in the heady days of dot-com madness by a mutual friend in Summit County. I forget most everything about that first deal - which was sure to change the world but never got very far off the ground. Over the years we tried to put our heads and connections together into many others...but we never did make each other wealthy or famous. But, a funny thing happened along the way - I found I looked forward to spending hours with him talking about all manner of people and places and ideas - usually under the pretext of important business, but really just for his unique and illuminating perspective on life, the world and the people in it. And in the process I saw how he enriched everyone around him, and created a fame of a more important kind. He will be missed.

I was much saddened to hear of Scott's passing. He was a brilliant mind and we had fun together doing the work in Aspen that you have found on youtube. He was one of the few people who "got it". His passing is a great loss to the evolution of consciousness. I was hoping that we would get to do more as these ideas become more "mainstream" - guess he'll have to inspire folks from the other side of the veil. Love to all, we are all connected through our heart resonance to Scott and the vision he embodied. http://www.TheTrustFrequency.net.

Florian and I met in the middle 60's in Aspen. He was a mentor and a great friend. His wisdom was never ending. He traveled in the Micro-bus, with Aviva at his hand, always smiling and happy. The Bakery in Boulder closed and all of the employees went to Costa Rica. I was one who was invited to round out the Astrological balance. He truly connected anyone He knew. Mom Ruth was always there to help the balance. He is in a place where all will go but where we have not yet attained. His spirit is upon us. JIm

In the summer of 1980, I drove from Austin, Texas to Aspen with Bill Ruby and met Florian at Marion Ruby's home. Florian and I became fast friends and I spent the remainder of my time in Aspen as his guest in a home that he shared downtown. We traveled the mountain roads together, showing each other places that were dear to us. One of my favorite stops was the junk yard of an early-adopter recycling friend of Florian. He was always game for new adventures and I have many fond memories crammed into a few weeks of alpine summer. Since that time, we've remained in touch via email and phone calls. Now, whenever I look up at the stars at night, I'll think of them as porch lights welcoming Florian to his true home.

The strange thing is that I don't know how I met Scott ... we were running a very interesting publishing operation New Age Magazine got started up in our paste up department ... and I know that he gave the the Moroccan shirt I'm wearing in a picture with my cat on my shoulder and still a good deal of hair, so that would have been in the early seventies when he was still Scott - and then he was Florian ... but his spirit was consistent, he was never an observer, he touched everyone he met and although I don't think I actually saw him once in the past twenty years we kept in E-touch. He seemed to know or be in contact with so many people who wanted to improve the world, and every one of them will note as little hole on their heart that will open when they learn the sad news ... and may they keep those open hearts and not forget him or his time on earth.

Well Cousin,

Speaking of nudity: you were the first boy I saw without clothes on. I ran to my grandmother, very concerned about your bottom and she had a very hard time convincing me that those "lumps" were what made you a boy and not a girl. From then on you were a role model for the kind of irrepressible and spontaneous boys I wanted in my life.

I thank my Aunt Ruth for having the iron will to ignore your horrible screams of pain while she massaged your polio stricken leg. She "made" you walk.

Here's to the three cousins creating, together, our fantasy worlds beneath grandmother Fogg's crab apple tree. It was the best of times, it was...

I always told Florian he was Agent 008, the secret
agent of music and philosophy world connecting
people with large unseen forces and webs
of community. So even in death on this website
he continues to connect all of us who knew him
and will miss his wry sense of humor, creativity
and willingness to see the unseen patterns
and paths possible for all of us to connect with
each other and the reverse origami of life.....
Florian never got to see 3sidedwhole, our wilderness
desert retreat site in new mexico, but we will
place some of our memories of him there
for eternal safe keeping and connection to the land.
and visit us at 3sidedwhole.com to see what Florian
helped inspire us to keep creating....drblue

Grew up with Scott, friends throughout school. He tried to teach me chess, just so he could beat me. He frustrated me when he wouldn't listen to my counsel of being a little more comformist in high school, but that was just his way. Three piece suits and a briefcase were his uniform, and he didn't care who didn't like it. I'll always remember his mom, Mrs. H and his dad Rudy, a rugged beer maker (Coors). Mrs. H took Scott and I to the Taco House on w. colfax for some cheese enchiladas many, many times and something so simple is still a fond memory. I think Scott blazed his own trail and seemed at peace with his decisions. I lost track of him after I entered the service, never got back in touch and I'm sorry I didn't. Bless him and his mom, Ruth.

Scott and I met on a day filled with so many uncanny coincidences---what Jung would call "synchronicity"---that we were both convinced that powerful, but unseen, forces were pushing us together. For 36 years the magical quality of our friendship never disappeared. I'll be in Golden for his Memorial Service and it will be on my birthday. The words I would have chosen: humanitarian, connector, visionary, have already been said. I sure am going to miss my brown-rice-eating buddy.

I am very sad to have heard of Florian's passing. I have only known him for a little over a year. I met Florian through Sandra Murray and Chris Wogan which I am so thankful for the introduction. He has touched my life with his brilliance, positive nature of life, wanting to help the world and the people he knew. There were times he tried to help too many people and did not help himself, but this was his nature. I saw him help friends in need with no regard as to how it would affect him personally. Last year, I had the pleasure of spending a week with Florian in Aspen for AREDAY. We met Ted Turner, Pat Mitchell, Peter Buffett and we visited the beautiful land at the top of the ski resort the future home of the Aspen Institute which was a big dream of his (see picture). He was very creative with his ideas and dreams that he would make sound so achievable even when they seemed impossible. In as little time that I knew him I felt that we could both agree to disagree on some things, but could still make things happen anyways. We both shared the Leo sign which meant we both are strong willed in our thought process. There are things in life you wish you could say to a person before they leave this earth. I would have liked to say to him, thanks for all that you have done and may you rest in peace for your work here is done. I will always have fond memories of your kindness to me.

I first met Florian while working in the natural foods industry. I recall our first dinner together, when he assessed my astrological orientation, and presented shades of my character of which I was only distantly aware. Moving on to alternative energy, he always welcomed and made me feel warm and welcome in his world. I always admired his ability to stay on the edge of change, as uncomfortable as it was at times. Florian had a big heart, a good mind, and an expansive soul. I bow to his soul, and smile with his memory.

Your special thoughts and unique ideas are always in our minds. We haven't gone to China together yet. We talked a lot about business, how to go to China, Hong Kong to develop our own business. Now you can fly there to continue our dreams.

Since 2003, the year I came to USA, we spent every single Thanksgiving and Christmas together.

Love always
Michael and Betty

To The Dear Friends of Florian,

I am head pastor of the Church of the Holy Rose Cross. Florian wanted to be on our Board of Directors, he loved our Mission Statement. Florian said: " funny that I have gone off one board, and I think you have given me a new place on the same day, that's a good omen." I have been a board member of other organizations, and know a great and honest man. Florian wasn't able to be on my board, because the last email I sent him was not answered. Then I found out, like all of you, that our beloved Florian had passed away. I look at him now as a kind of Saint - in my own way of course - why? Because he speaks in my heart " Gene, I will show you the way, don't worry, my eyes have never been so clear, and my thoughts so penetrating! I love your work, and will visit you often, to help your work. We shall work together even now!!!"

That is my message to all of you. If any of you would like to join us and see this work come into the World, please call me 760-595-8657, or email me tazo@tazonet.com. Say your story, and tell me of your wonderful friend Florian! Perhaps you can fill the post he would have?

Pastor Gene

Hello wonderful friends of Florian Scott.

I am so sad and shocked, like all of you are, to have to be present and realize that Florian is not with us here on earth. I met him in 2006 at the opening of Zero Point Studios and have enjoyed many in depth conversations about truth, love and joy. I remember one night, he called me a "thief", for not following protocol! I valued his opinion, even though at times, he annoyed me. :-)
This photo was on my birthday 2 years ago when Debbie and he brought me flowers - he was a gentleman, a genuine spirit...and I will miss him dearly.

I met Scott in junior high through our mutual best friend, Phil Tripp. I really got to know him one summer when I got a job cleaning the Golden Theater after hours. I would let him and other friends in and we would talk for hours about the state of the world and what we hoped the future would bring. That's when I found out he was a visionary of action, not just words. Years later, on camping trip to Lost Lake we saw our first UFO together or maybe it was just something we ate?? I regret our paths haven't crossed lately, he was a noble man. I'll miss him but the world will miss his help more!!!!

Remembering Scott
I only knew Scott for about ten years, but ten years is a really long time... And it’s also bloody short time... Each of us is, as Elton John said, "Like a candle in the wind." We never know when the wind will blow…

It never is or was about whom we are, or what we have, or what we intend… It is, and always was about what we do, how much we love and how we change the world. Scott, knew that and he acted on it… Very few people have that courage…

I also look at Scott through those who really knew him… I see how much love and loss they are carrying, and I see their pain of having lost him and I know that he was far more than an ordinary man… Some people change other people just because of having known them. They make them better, and those are the people I remember… The people who in their own way make this world a better place, God knows we need more of them, especially in these times…

Take care my friend; we all miss you… Till we meet again…

By the way, save us all a place at the table!

The first time I met Scott, it was his sense of humor that hooked me, a sense of humor he never lost. Today I am feeling sadness, joy, pain, love, hope and very, very lucky to have known Scott. We had some good times. I'm going to miss him.

Scott had the ability to make the mundane extraordinary and the extraordinary out of this world.
In Aspen for my 20th birthday, we stayed in a cabin down the hill from a group of Meher Baba devotees. It happens that my birthday falls on the same day as Baba's, February 25th. Scott went up the hill and came back down with a birthday cheesecake baked by the devotees ...sprinkled with rose petals that had been blessed by Meher Baba.

Here's the p.s.
A most thoughtful friend for nearly 40 years, I weill never, ever forget you, Florian Scott Halazon.

Florian......... you have influenced my life beyond measure... I will always remember our ROAD TRIPS, food preparations, ceremonies, meditations, times in the Cochise Stronghold discussing how to leave the world better than we found it, and most of all your comprehensive ability to see through the fog of life and clarify its essence. You are still amazing to me, my brother. Tears fill my eyes with the realizations that your smile and love are no longer here on this plane ... but that is my selfish desire to see you in the physical, again. Your counsel and understanding will always be with me, and knowing that you are no longer in pain, comforts my sadness with the knowing that you are soaring as an eagle, able to see all that was hidden from your view before............ CARRY-ON my Brother... the road less traveled has your indelible mark upon it. I truly love you...

Scott was a very very special person in my life and in the lives of all he touched. I was lucky enough to be his 'old lady' for a couple of years starting in 1971 until about the end 1973. He taught me so much about the world, about spirituality, brotherhood and sisterhood, wheeling and dealing, and the Rocky Mountains. Some of the most dear and special moments of my life were spent in love with Scott. I still remember many of them. I am just sad and sorry I lost touch with him. I would have loved to have talked with him and shared time with him before he passed. Thanks for making this website and memory of Scott available.

with love, Avivah

the PAPA BEAR... Kelley:
I remember our trips with Scott, Florian, all over the Northeast, macrobiotics in Brookline, wintering in Tucson and so much more. Truleymemorable events in my life on the road with Florian Scott Halazon... Do you remember our trip to Milwaukee... Avivah? LOL&MOS + MOBS = the Kellmontster............ aka Kelley

Avivah:
Hi Kelly!!! It's so great to hear from you. Of course I remember all those trips. In fact I live in the D.C. area now - and Arleen - remember her? I'm sure you do - lives real close to me. And we always look for your house in McLean and we always remember the Cochise stronghold and magic mushrooms. Are you still in the D.C. area? Would love to catch up.

To my friend, colleague , and brother,
You have given so much to so many people.
You were a human being with an amazing capacity for caring – caring for your family, your friends, and strangers whose paths that you crossed at a time of need in their lives. You cared about our planet and our world. You were a healer, an agent of change, a trickster, a court jester, and you managed to cross boundaries – personal and cultural - with ease and grace.
Scott, I will treasure the memories, I will miss you, our family will miss you.
Love, always….

We bushwhacked across the mountain side,
we hiked on many trails,
4-wheeling on roads we should not have been on,
Traveled the country roads, and cruised on the city streets,
We’ve sped across the highways,
And flew across the sky.

You have taken a path that I can’t walk, for now.
But you will be in my heart as I walk this earth.

Love Debby
